When that wonderful bundle of joy finally arrives,
you will probably be a little overwhelmed, sleep deprived and not at all thinking about professional photography. This is why it is a good idea to plan your newborn photo shoot before your baby is born. They sure grow up fast. You will be surprised months into your child’s life how much they will have changed. Looking at your earliest photos will remind you of all the wonderful moments when your baby was still a newborn. Can you imagine how wonderful it would be to have professional images of your baby boy or girl at every age (who will always be your baby even when he or she is 40)?!
Of course, baby photos can be adorable and memorable at any age, but those cute cuddly poses such as the tushie pose are best achieved when the baby is under two weeks old. At this age, your newborn is sleepy and much more easily posed. Of course you have to keep the house really warm, and on a full stomach, your little darling will most likely cooperate.For older babies, the big advantage is that they will be much more alert. At four weeks, your little one will be very curious, and your photographer can capture some of those soul penetrating stares, and even a smile, if you are lucky. That is also the age to bring out your favorite outfits.
Whatever age your baby is now, he and she will thank you for these photos when they grow up, and you will be glad to have them to bring back those precious moments over and over.
